Moments in our history

2022

The JUNTOS project with the sewing workshop has become so well established that the Asociación Hogar de Cristo in Arequipa second house with the workshop was obtained.

2021

Our club is changing its name. Now we are called Friends of Arequipa eV.. This is accompanied by a change in the statutes, which enables us to support additional social projects in the fight against poverty in and around Arequipa.

2020

We supported them during the Covid pandemic Médicos Solidarios Initiative. This took care of people affected by Covid in the health centers in Peru.

Project JUNTOS: The House of Hogar de Cristo launched its own project, which works hand in hand with the Medicos Solidarios initiative. Sewing machines were purchased and the young people and their parents were instructed in sewing protective clothing for the health sector.

2013

Friends of Hogar de Cristo eV contributes financially to the new building of the Espiritu Santo Polyclinic. In return, it was agreed in a contract that 50 of our children would receive health care in the hospital every year.

2010

Scholarships: Our association is of the opinion that poverty can be combated most sustainably with sound training. Every year, ten scholarship holders are supported to learn a profession.

2004

Up to 50 children visit the house every day and receive Care one hot meal and the opportunity to wash and clean their clothes. The house has own workshops, in which young people are trained in various areas. This includes one Sewing workshop, in which they can be trained by a seamstress. They lead in the in-house workshop carpentry work out of. Next to Homework support takes place regularly Reading and writing training to support the children in their school career.

1998

Through donations, our association was able to help ensure that the Asociación Hogar de Cristo is located right in the center of Arequipa buy a house which became a contact point for street children.

1996

Foundation of the association Friends of Hogar de Cristo e.V. (today: Friends of Arequipa e.V.) in Böblingen.
